Doris Christiansen Stokes.
2 bags, 1 envelope, 1 file folder.
Doris Christiansen Stokes was the daughter of Francis F. Christiansen and Helene Nielsen-Nelsen Christiansen of Blair, Nebraska. All four of her grandparents were Danish immigrants. These three generations were primarily located in Washington County, Nebraska. Doris married Earl W. Stokes of Blair in 1942.
The family was active in the Danish Brotherhood Lodge (#206) in Blair and donated numerous lodge materials. These have all been transferred to that particular lodge collection (DBL-2000 NE-Blair).
This collection contains a large number of B&W photographs; genealogical worksheets; and pages from a Danish Bible (1876) with family information. A copy of A GANSBERG-HANSEN HISTORY AND GENEALOGY 1788-1988 (Doris' grandmother Olena was a Hansen) can be found on the DAAL shelf at 929.2 R45g. This large work has a section on the Peter Frandsen Christiansen family. Several oversize certificates from schools and churches can be found in OSD-2015 Box 5 on the DAAL oversize shelves.
