Timothy Anker Jensen was born May 3, 1944, in Edmore, Michigan, to Anker Morris Jensen and Vita Marie (Hansen) Jensen. At age four the family moved to Luck, Wisconsin, where Anker served as pastor of the local Lutheran church. In 1955 Timothy and his family moved again, this time to Castro Valley, California. Timothy attended Castro Valley schools, and in 1962 graduated as valedictorian. After graduation he attended Dana College in Blair, Nebraska, where he graduated valedictorian summa cum laude in1966. He then attended the University of Chicago Divinity School where he was awarded a Master’s degree in 1970 and a Ph.D. in 1976. From 1972 through 1978 he was Assistant Professor of Religion at Mary Washington College (now the University of Mary Washington). In 1978 he and his family moved to Adelaide, South Australia where he was a lecturer at Sturt College of Advanced Education. In 1982 he and the family moved to Blair, Nebraska. There he was employed as computer programmer and systems analyst for for two communications firms, Computer and Great Plains Communications. During the same period he was an adjunct professor of religion at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He retired in 2006. From that time until 2020 he volunteered at the Danish American Archive and Library until 2020, serving for three years as president and for 14 years on the board of directors. Folder 1 contains Tim's autobiography covering his high school years in Castro Valley (1958-1962). Folder 2 contains his Boy Scout memorabilia including his achievement cards and both a citation for Pro Deo et Patria Award and a photograph of him receiving it. Folder 3 contains certificates of achievement in track and basket ball and a block letterman in cross country. There is also memorabilia from the U.S. vs. U.S.S.R. track meet which took place at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA in 1962. Folder 4 contains essays Tim wrote in his freshman English class. They were assigned to write essays on each of the 7 deadly sins. 2 original short stories are included, one from a later American literature class. Many of the items have a Dewey Decimal number assigned to them as Tim was copying his father's means of organization. Folder 5 contains 2 reports, one on the Lutheran ministry as a career. Folder 6 contains 3 more reports: history of the world, making of the King James Bible and children and divorce. Folder 7 contains identified photos of family and friends.
