Niels Klemen Jensen.

Niels Klemen Jensen and his wife, Anine Kristine, emigrated to the United States shortly after their wedding in 1884. He was ordained in 1885. They served in Rutland, Iowa, Denmark, Wisconsin. Alden, Minnesota and Willow Creek (now Royal), Iowa. When the Danish Church split into 3 groups, Rev. Jensen went with the North Church (Danish Evangelical Church in North America) which later merged with the Blair Church in 1895 to become the United Danish Evangelical Church (U.D.E.L.C.). Niels and Anine had 6 children : Hans Clement, Signa Susanna (Mrs. Hjalmar Larsen), Christian Herold, Gertrude (Mrs. J. P. Nielsen), Ansgar Holm and Ruth (Mrs. E. W. Petrusson). Both Gertrude and Ruth married pastors. When Rev. Jensen died, the family continued to live in the old parsonage at Willow Creek until 1916.
This box contains items about Rev. N. Klemen and Anine Jensen. There are the ordination papers and will of Rev. Jensen, a photograph of him and an article from Luthersk Ugeblad (30 January 1945) which has a short biography of his life. There is a long obituary for Anine Jensen, discussing her life as wll as a postcard with a photograph of Elk Horn College dated 1910. Also included is a booklet with the pension rules and Balslev's Bibelhistorie.
