Bondo was a pastor in the United (Danish) Evangelical Lutheran Church and the first editor of The Little Lutheran. He first served a joint parish in Marcus and Oyens, Iowa (1903-07 and then moved to parishes Sleepy Eye, Minn. (1907-12), Luck and Cushing, Wis. (1912-18) and Harlan, Iowa (1918-21) before moving to his final congregations in Albert Lea (1921-42) and Farmington, Minn. (1942-43). He married Lilly Hansine Henriksen. They had 3 children : Ellen Alberta (Pedersen), Edna Henrietta (Nance) and Ervin Franklin Bondo. This box contains 2 copies of "The Bondo and Henriksen families united : the story of Henry Bondo and Lilly Henriksen". In the back of the book are appendices. They include early Bondo history, writings of Rev. H. W. Bondo, letters and homestead documents of A. P. Henriksen and letters of Lilly Henriksen Bondo. There are also 2 large panorama photographs of groups who may be attending a church convention. A. P. Henriksen, also known as Peter, of Hampton, Nebraska was one of the people who were instrumental in the founding of the United Danish Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was also one of the organizers of Immanuel Danish Lutheran Church near Hampton. A.P. married Ane Pedersen in 1874. They had 8 children : Dorthea (Mengers), Henriette, Lilly Hansine (Bondo), Ida (Hansen), Mary, Emil, Levi Burton and Lydia Belinda (Madsen). 2 daughters married pastors, Lilly Bondo and Dorthea Mengers while a 3rd daughter, Lydia Madsen, was the mother of a pastor (Archie Madsen). 20190214.
