Rev. Richard Andersen (1931-) was a twin son of immigrant parents. He attended Dana College in Blair, Nebraska and Trinity Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. He has a Ph.D. from the California Graduate School of Theology in Glendale, Calif. He served churches in California : Valley Lutheran (North Hollywood), Ojai (Lutheran Church of the Holy Cross), Rancho Cordova (Grace), La Habra (Lutheran Church of the Master), Long Beach (Our Saviour's), and San Jose (St. Timothy's). He founded Community Church of Joy in Glendale, Arizona and was a pastor at the International Church of Copenhagen in Denmark. He married Lois Petersen. They have 3 children.
