There are 200 slides of the trip and 2 maps with the abstract of the logs of the voyages to and from the States. On the way to Copenhagen to New York they sailed on the MS Stockholm. There is also a book, "Stenalderen" by Kristjan Bure.
Peter and Tena Hansen of Rowan, Iowa had 6 children: Arthur Hansen (1886-1972), Raymond Hansen (1890-1951), Joseph Hansen (1896-1962), Erna Hansen Stroud (1888-1942), Blanche Hansen Nielsen (1892-1974) and Alfred Hansen (1902-1976).
This box contains material on the Alfred Hansen family trip to Denmark in 1959. Pkt. 1 contains birth certificates and marriage licenses and certificates for Alfred and Charlotte Hansen as well as their passport. Pkt. 2 contains photographs of the Hansen family, a map of Lolland and the passenger list for the MS Kungsholm sailing from Gothenberg to New York on August 1, 1959. Pkt. 3 contains correspondence and photographs from Lauritz Fisker and family to Alfred Hansen and family. Lauritz had worked for Alfred's farher, Peter, as a hired man for a few years. Pkt. 4 contains correspondence with and a photograph of Mogens Fisker, the son of Lauritz. He needed Alfred Hansen to sponsor him when he immigrated to the U.S. There is an application for an immigrant visa. Pkt. 5 contains letters from John Colthard, owner of Ellemosegaard.
