Rev. F. W. (Bill) Thomsen was born in Hjorring, Denmark in 1906. When he was a child, his family immigrated to the United States. He was a graduate of the Cleveland Art Institute (1932), St. Olaf College, Drake College and Trinity Seminary. He was the pastor of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Moorhead, Iowa (1945-1955) while also head of the Art Department at Dana College. He taught at Dana 33 years. He married Orpa Andersen in 1939. They had 2 sons, Paul and John.
Pkt. 1 contains photographs of relatives and friends, including Bedstefar and Bedstemor Olesen. Pkts. 2-7 contain lecture notes and observations (1935-1940) of F. W. Thomsen. Pkt. 4 is a copy of Rev. J. P. Nielsen's lecture, "The makers of Christianity" (1935.)
