C. B. Larsen (1888-1976) was a missionary in Queensland, Australia, minister in Worchester, Mass. and a professor at Dana College and Trinity Seminary in Blair, Nebr. He married Abelone Nielsen (1891-1977) who was a housemother at Oaks Indian Mission (Oaks, Okla.) before her marriage to C. B.
This box contains 13 spiral notebooks which belonged to Rev. Larsen. They contain lecture notes for courses he taught. There are other writings by Rev. Larsen, including notes from a journey from Australia to Denmark (1923) and a tract, Investigate and Consider.
There is some material about Christian and Thrine Jensen of Negaunee, Michigan, an aunt and uncle of C. B. Larsen. They were both immigrants from Denmark, who met in the states and married in 1881.
There is a folder titled "Some reflections of my life." There is also an autobiographical sketch by Abelone Larsen, dealing with her early childhood and her work at Oaks Indian Mission. There is also a photograph of the gravestone of Abelone's Parents, Niels and Karen Madsen, which is in a heather field in Rind, Denmark. It also contains poetry by Abelone. In an issue of Lutersk Ugeblad (April 19, 1941) p.5 there is a poem Abelone wrote a poem on the occasion of the death of Rev. N. L. Nielsen with whom she worked at Oaks.
